Claerwen Retreat is located at Crows Nest lookout in Apollo Bay, Victoria - along the famous Great Ocean Road. It is a healing centre and art therapy training facility set in a stunning and private environment. Workshop spaces and a range of accommodation options are complemented by the wild magic of unspoilt nature: we are surrounded by kangaroos, koalas, rainforests and a multitude of birds - and the ever-changing weather blowing in from Bass Straight.
Those susceptible to these more subtle influences will experience Claerwen Retreat as a deeply healing place. It is a place for those times when we need time-out, a place to retreat, to be alone and go inward. It is also a place to learn new skills in a variety of art therapy workshops for professional development. Inner work can at times be confronting, but also necessary for both personal and professional rejuvenation.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to Elders both past and present. For thousands of years the Gadubanud cared for the rainforest plateau of the Otway Ranges and rugged coastline of Cape Otway – including what we know today as Claerwen Retreat and Crows Nest. We believe that the area held and still holds cultural and spiritual significance.
